We are all made of stories -- we listen to them, tell them, make them, and make them up. When I think of my mother, I think of the stories she told me when she thought I was too young to understand. She told stories of pain and suffering, of nobility and sacrifice, of loss and survival. She told stories of her childhood in a small town by the river.
